How will we guide you on your retreat?

Ever wanted to deepen your yoga practice and your appreciation of all that yoga has to offer? 
Yoga is so much more than our physical practice. We know we feel good after our yoga sessions, but have you stopped to think about why?
On this retreat we will explore asana (physical postures), pranayama (breathing techniques) varying types of meditation, yogic philosophy and have fun with some chanting or kirtan.  We are also fortunate to welcome an Art Therapist to this retreat, you will have an opportunity to unleash your creativity and inspiration through exploring your subconscious side with art practices.
Embrace Yoga is about fostering a light, playful attitude to your yoga practice, letting go of expectations of where we think we should be and not taking ourselves too seriously. At the same time allowing space to see what your practice reveals to you, time for quiet reflection to explore your inner landscape. 
Our hope is that with a deeper understanding of yoga and how it applies on and off the mat, you will learn techniques to help you better manage stress and everything that life throws at you.

Incorporating a regular yoga practice into my life was transformational for me. This lead me to complete my teacher training in 2013 and I have since completed further studies, including structural yoga therapy.  
I feel very blessed to be able to share the gift of yoga with you. I believe that yoga is for everybody, no matter what age, shape or sex. Yoga can be tailored to meet you where you are at right in this very moment.
My classes integrate flowing and static postures with a focus on building strength as well as flexibility and most importantly fostering the mind-body connection, with mindfulness practices woven into every class. Each class is a little different as I try to match the students' energy and needs in that moment. 
Through yoga we come back to the self, we find presence and acceptance.
​I hope to guide you on your retreat to find what it is that you need in the moment with a sense of warmth, joy and loving kindness.

I love the sense of calm spaciousness a regular yoga practice can provide. So much so, I was inspired to complete my Advanced Diploma of Yoga Teacher Training during 2014 and 2015.
An evolving yoga practise embraces not only postures but breath work, meditation and conscious immersion in life.  Yogic practices provide access to our various layers of being, from the physical to ethereal, giving us heightened self-awareness and a greater capacity for acceptance and compassion.
During the retreat, you will experience many shades of yoga, from static to flowing, energetic to introspective, personal to communal. Discover what resonates with you, and perhaps take it home for further investigation and practice.

​It will be an honour for me to join you on the wellness retreat. As an Arts Therapist my intention is to offer you a nurturing experience of creative arts expression.
I come from a background as a health professional and have held a life-long love of the arts. My journey in Arts Therapy has been about striving to live authentically, which led me to successfully graduating from my Masters in Arts Therapy in 2015. I have a keen interest in mindfulness practise and I love yoga! Having worked for several years as an Arts Therapist with mental health clients at a major public hospital, I find myself continually in awe of the healing power of creative arts expression, with its capacity to enable release and relaxation, joy, being present in the moment, a greater sense of oneself, and an acknowledgment of one’s personal values and strengths.
I strongly believe we are all creative beings. I invite you to join me in an experience of making art where the emphasis is on the process of self-expression - one of exploration, curiosity and play, where you are gently guided in an environment of acceptance and wonder.
